Women of the ELCA (or WELCA) is one of the most active groups within our congregation. Mission Action women meet every Monday morning making quilts, tearing sheets for bandages, rolling the bandages, putting together baby care kits, personal hygiene kits, and school bags. These women faithfully spend 2080 hours a year on this very important work. We must also mention the many women who work at home making quilt tops, knitting baby sweaters, sewing bindings on the quilts, sewing school bags, knitting prayer shawls, sending out birthday and sympathy cards as well as shopping for gifts for homebound church members. In addition to the quilts made for the Lutheran World Relief and other disasters about 350 a year, a quilt is also made for each Trinity student that graduates from high school. Mission Community women are responsible for coordinating the lunch for the Bloodmobile workers. They coordinate the Relay for Life team selling luminaries and attending the Relay for Life event. They also plan the World Day of Prayer event here at Trinity. Mission Growth women coordinate our Daughters of the Church Gardening event; our Cookie walk and our lesfe baking. We also want you to know all the money made on the cookie walk goes right back into the community as we help those who are less fortunate then we are. We have a St. Johns representative who coordinates the women who are willing to help with Bingo and Birthday parties. We also work hard to present all the women of the church two interesting and in-sightful general meetings a year. We have our annual fall dinner with the proceeds helping us to buy the items needed for our many projects, as well as the things need for our kitchen. WELCA also makes decorations for the church as well as, get the altar ready for church services, Advent dinner, the progressive dinner, and countless other things.
